The Burrow, our woodland nursery and preschool in Ashtead, Surrey, offers two age-appropriate groups to support every stage of your child’s early learning journey.
'Nursery Bunnies' is designed for our younger children (2 & 3 year olds), gently introducing them to nursery life. They can join us once they are two years old.
'Preschool Bunnies' is for our older children (3 & 4 year olds), preparing them for the transition to school. They can join us from the September prior to starting school.
Together, these groups ensure every child is supported, challenged and cared for at the right pace for their age and development.

Government Funding

The Burrow accepts Universal Funding and Working Parent Entitlement. Eligibility can be checked at Best Start In Life.

Government funding covers 3 hours per session of standard EYFS provision only. It does not include additional resources, services, events or any other specialist provision.
The Burrow Explorer contribution provides access to:
Our private woodland and outdoor learning
Qualified teacher-led Challenge Time sessions
Animal encounters
Special events and celebrations
Additional clubs
Visits and outings
We are pleased to offer a limited number of fully-funded places each term for vulnerable or disadvantaged children, or families in financial difficulty.
Once all our fully funded places are filled, we ask parents of other funded children to make our ’Burrow Explorer’ contribution, which enables us to continue providing our extended curriculum, at such an exceptionally high quality, to all funded children. Without this contribution we will be unable to continue to offer funded places at The Burrow.

CALCULATING YOUR COSTS
To calculate your costs, follow the column that applies to your children (unfunded; in receipt of Universal Funding; or eligible for Working Parent Entitlement) and select the sessions you require - please note our requirements for morning sessions.
Fees are invoiced termly. To calculate your termly fees, add up the daily sessions you require for the week, multiplty by 38 (number of weeks in the academic year) and divide by 3 (number of terms in an academic year).
For example:
- A Preschool Bunny, with Universal Funding:
Morning Sessions Only: 5 x £12 = £60
Weekly Total: £60
Annual Total: £60 x 38 = £2280
Termly Total Invoiced: £2280 / 3 = £760
2 Full Days until 3:30pm: 2 x £42 = £84
1 Full Day until 4:30pm: 1 x £52 = £52
2 Mornings only: 2 x £12 = £24
4 Early starts: 4 x £10 = £40
Weekly Total: £200
Annual Total: £200 x 38 = £7600
Termly Total Invoiced: £7760 / 3 = £2533
